Wet dream come true?

9 AM PST, January 15, 2008. That’s when a wet dream of mine might finally come true, and I’m totally excited! Appleinsider.com reports today that Apple’s long-rumoured, mythical ultra-portable notebook will be launched at Macworld Expo January 15-18.

I don’t know how long I’ve been holding out for a new laptop. At work they recently gave me a Lenovo x60. It’s a nice piece of hardware — light, extremely good battery-life, perfect for a long afternoon of surfing at a nice coffee shop. But, it breaks my heart running Windows XP. My true love since 2004 is a 1.33 GHz PowerBook. It’s been a gem. Gorgeous-looking, reliable, and not to forget, home to beautiful, beautiful Mac OS X.

But lately, I’ve been yearning for something new. After going to countless web 2.0 conferences with everyone having a newer, fresher, faster MacBook or MBP, I’m desperate for an update. And this baby, as Appleinsider describes it, is the perfect candidate:

The 13-inch portable [...] will mark the Cupertino-based Mac maker’s re-entry into the sub-notebook market — arriving in a form-factor that’s approximately 50 percent lighter and strikingly slimmer than the company’s current 15-inch professional MacBook Pro offering.

January 15. I hope I have a date. Me, Jobs, and the laptop of my dreams. Mmm…

Your x60 could run Debian or Ubuntu, though. *hug*
