iPhone 3.0 tethering guide

Yay! Finally got iPhone tethering to work on my Mac, this is how:

Bluetooth

  1. Turn Bluetooth on on both your iPhone and Mac
  2. iPhone: Settings->General->Bluetooth, now wait
  3. Mac: Bluetooth menu->Set up Bluetooth device, select “Use device as a network port”
  4. iPhone: Settings->General->Network->Internet Tethering, turn tethering on
  5. Mac: Bluetooth menu->[Your iPhone]->Connect to Network
  6. Success!

USB

  1. Plug in cable
  2. A new Ethernet adapter is automatically created
  3. Configure the new interface -> Network Preferences opens
  4. Click “Apply”
  5. All set!
